Exciting times for web site builders

Exciting times for web site builders

Not a while ago reading a specification and articles about HTML 5 I was really excited about the new features. I’ve read also many posts about how far away is this new version of the language of the current market situation. In our real world however all browsers seems to support it and if add to this the CSS3 features….

...things becoming really interesting.

So again not while ago you had no choice when you have to design and implement many features in some client website like sliding images, animations of the elements with transitions, sound, video and many interaction you had to pick Flash, Quicktime or some other player - well they are now 100% possible using either pure semantics of with a bit JavaScript help. Speaking of javascript there is a lot of good frameworks that can do amazing thing so easy.

I think the exiting times are about to come or they are already here. Rounded corners, animations, shadows, using custom fonts - these things was really pain in the arse before as you have to pick a one technique from probably 10, make images and many fake code, use css work arounds and hacks for each different browser and probably some javascript patches. Now these things are possible in vary easy way and most important keeping the code clean and tidy.

One of the major things that happened in last 2 years was stopping the Internet Explorer 6 support from Microsoft and this was the start of leaving this crappy browser out of the game. This is fact now - Thank you God! Well there is still relatively large group of people using IE7, but it’s about time this to be changed. For IE8 - well this is more acceptable as you don’t have to spend hours of fixing and writing separate styles but still this browser have lack of CSS3 support unfortunately.

I saw the Internet explorer 9 preview platform and have to say that I couldn’t believe that Microsoft finally will release good browser (I’m not saying anything against MS - they have a lot of good end-user software).

I think when 80% of current IE users upgrade to IE9 the exiting times will come and not only for web site builders and more important - for billions internet users.

The loans seem to be very useful for people, which are willing to ground their business. In fact, that is not really hard to get a sba loan.
